Diptyque dreaming

It's been a super crazy day at the fashion HQ and the only thing that will restore calm and serenity in my life at this precise moment is a cup of peppermint tea, the latest copies of Vanity Fair and Vogue to flip through, Mad Men playing in the background, all as the sweet smell of cinnamon and orange from Diptyque's Pomander candle envelops the room.

Bliss.

Have a lovely evening.

NARS The Vintage Nail Polish Collection

I love anything that's old, my vintage 1930s engagement ring, my battered Armani handbag that I picked up for £25, '80s Bratpack movies and even my old husband! Ok, he's not that old but you get the point!

I normally associate the word 'vintage' with clothes, never with cosmetics. However, my eyes lit up when I received information about the Vintage Nail Polish Collection from NARS. With five shades resurrected from the NARS archives by popular demand and the theme centred around classic cinema, it's an on-counter spectacular that I shall not be missing.

Hot off the nail press are:

Mash (my favourite)
Colour: Army green infused with gold
The comedy about the staff of a Korean War field hospital using humor to keep their sanity in the face of war. The film inspired the TV series M*A*S*H.

King Kong
Colour: Copper brown infused with gold
A classic movie about the infamous giant ape who becomes smitten with beauty.

Midnight Express
Colour: Deep navy
The 1970s film for an inmate’s opportunity to escape from prison.

Zulu
Colour: Forest green
A British war movie starring Stanley Baker and Michael Caine, directed by Cy Endfield in 1964.

Full Metal Jacket
Colour: Gunmetal grey
An epic Vietnam War movie directed by Stanley Kubrick in 1987.

Modern classics, I think you'll agree.

The collection is limited edition, naturally. All good things have to come to an end, right?

Price: £13.00 each
Available: October 1st at Selfridges (0800 123 400)

BECCA Beautiful

I just had to share this stunning campaign image from one of my favourite make-up lines, BECCA Cosmetics, hailing from the sunny shores of Oz. This image sums up the brand's latest collection, Prairie Moon - rugged femininity personified.

If this immaculate visual doesn't make you want to try their products, I don't know what will.

Beyonce's Tattoo Temptation

Is there nothing this woman can't do? Not content with conquering the music/fashion/film/fragrance world, Beyonce Knowles and her House of Dereon fashion house is giving the Chanel camp a run for its money by adding a line of temporary tattoos to her fashion offering, courtesy of tattoo and airbrush make-up house, Temptu.

B
eyonce's mother, Tina, and HoD co-founder told WWD.com that the idea came about after B modelled body art in the Fall/Winter 2011 H0D campaign: "We decided to invite Temptu to help us create custom body art for her to model with our fashions,”

"The resulting images were so strong that we realized consumers might want to re-create the tattoos themselves."

The limited edition waterproof tattoos launch on 1st November in the US and online from $16.

FitFlop Fancy

Introducing the FitFlop Superboot (tall). I came across these boots yesterday and they jumped to the top of my winter wish list.

As FitFlop says, 'Wardrobe, meet workout. Workout, meet wardrobe.' Thanks to their famous Microwobbleboard™ sole, not only are these boots a beautiful footwear choice for the coming months, but they also help tone and tighten your leg muscles as you go about your daily activities.

Some stats:
- Fitflops can help increase leg and bottom muscle activity (up to 30%)
- they can absorb more shock than a normal shoe (up to 22%)
- they can help realign ground force reaction closer to your joints (so you feel less ache in your hips and knees)
- can reduce foot pressure and pain

I don't think I can resist.

They also come in chocolate brown, olive and cafe au lait. Would four pairs really be too many?

Kirk Originals Kinetic Collection

I’m investigating eyewear at the moment. For two reasons:

1. I can’t see properly, thus I need help in the form of spectacles. I am also too scared to even contemplate contacts or laser eye surgery.

2. It’s an excuse to buy something that I class as ‘an accessory’, therefore is fun to research and, inevitably, purchase.

Kirk Originals Kinetic Collection came to my attention via a press release and I really love them. I’m undecided as to whether I could actually pull them off but, working in fashion, I can think of a few people who definitely could work them on a daily basis.

The cool thing about these glasses is that they feature panels along the arms which move as you, the wearer, move your head.

There are four styles to choose from:

Spectrum: a living spectrum of colour
Flash: a flash arrow that shoots along the arm
Skull: a strip of blazing flameswith a skull at the core
Equaliser: which ripples and pulsates with motion

Launching late October, can't wait.

The Beauty Scoop Is Married

Hello,

It's been a while, I know. But what with getting married, honeymooning in some of the most idyllic places in the world and catching up with friends, the last few weeks have been a whirlwind.

What I do know is this: I am so very, blissfully happy with my husband, the most incredible person I have ever met (aside from Daddy Scoop) and the person that I can't wait to share my life's hopes and dreams with. And who I will hopefully have some lovely little babies with one day.

On that note, for the forseeable future, I am solely going to be Tweeting all my beauty/fashion news, views and product recs, simply because I am working on a new venture. Can't say any more than that but it's in the pipeline and, most probably, going to be taking up a vast amount of my time for the next little while, if not the rest of my life.

For now, I'll leave you with some pictures of my big day. I hope you enjoy. And if anyone wants to buy the dress, let me know. I have decided to part ways with the lacy wonder.

Over and out for now,

The Beauty Scoop (Mrs)
